Hosted by: University of Economics and Law (UEL) & Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung (RLS)
The ICFGL 2026 represents a pivotal milestone in the ongoing collaboration between UEL and the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung. Acting as a bridge between the project's foundational phase and its future direction, this conference formally initiates the 2027-2030 strategic phase.
We are convening world-renowned scholars to facilitate a critical transition in feminist legal methodology: shifting our focus from judicial interpretation to legislative drafting. Since 2021, our project has successfully introduced Feminist Legal Theory (FLT) to the Vietnamese academic community through the lens of "Feminist Judgments" - re-writing the past to correct historical biases.
As we look toward the 2027-2030 roadmap, the project aims to move "upstream" in the legal process. The focus will shift to "Feminist Legislation" - essentially, drafting the future. The ICFGL 2026 acts as the intellectual pivot point, convening experts to articulate the vital connection between how laws are judged and how they are written.
A curated collection of papers reflecting the transition from feminist judging to legislative drafting.
Establishment of a dedicated working group focused on Feminist Legislation for the 2027-2030 phase.
Cultivating a cohort of Vietnamese researchers equipped with international publishing skills.
"Expert in feminist constitutionalism and international law."
"A pioneer and leading global voice in the Feminist Judgments movement."
"Lead editor of the Feminist Legislation Project."
The 2026 ICFGL invites scholars to submit abstracts centered on Feminist Law-Making. This edition explores the progressive integration of feminist perspectives into legal scholarship and practice, aiming to move beyond critical theory toward active legislative drafting and "DIY" law reform.
