Hosted by: University of Economics and Law (UEL) & Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung (RLS)
The ICFGL 2026 represents a pivotal milestone in the ongoing collaboration between UEL and the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung. Acting as a bridge between the project's foundational phase and its future direction, this conference formally initiates the 2027-2030 strategic phase.
We are convening world-renowned scholars to facilitate a critical transition in feminist legal methodology: shifting our focus from judicial interpretation to legislative drafting. Since 2021, our project has successfully introduced Feminist Legal Theory (FLT) to the Vietnamese academic community through the lens of "Feminist Judgments" - re-writing the past to correct historical biases.
As we look toward the 2027-2030 roadmap, the project aims to move "upstream" in the legal process. The focus will shift to "Feminist Legislation" - essentially, drafting the future. The ICFGL 2026 acts as the intellectual pivot point, convening experts to articulate the vital connection between how laws are judged and how they are written.
A pioneer and leading global voice in the Feminist Judgments movement.
Expert in feminist constitutionalism and international law.
Lead editor of the Feminist Legislation Project.
The 2026 ICFGL invites scholars to submit abstracts centered on Feminist Law-Making. This edition explores the progressive integration of feminist perspectives into legal scholarship and practice, aiming to move beyond critical theory toward active legislative drafting and "DIY" law reform.

To ensure a seamless and stress-free experience for all our international and domestic guests, navigating Ho Chi Minh City is easier than ever with the following options:
Ho Chi Minh City's modern Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) offers a fast, traffic-free, and air-conditioned route directly from the downtown city center to Thu Duc City. Participants can disembark at the VNU-HCM Station (Ga Dai hoc Quoc gia) or High Tech Park Station (Ga Khu cong nghe cao), which is just a short taxi or Bus 170 ride away from the UEL campus.
For an authentic local experience, Ho Chi Minh City operates an extensive public bus network. Several routes connect the city center directly to the VNU-HCM University Village area, including Routes 8, 19, 33, and 52. Fares are highly affordable (typically under 10,000 VND) and are paid in cash upon boarding.
Participants traveling by air will arrive at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN). The airport is well-connected to the city center via taxis, ride-hailing services, and the specialized Airport Bus (Route 109 or 152), offering convenient and affordable options for reaching your accommodation.
UEL will organize a dedicated shuttle bus service to transport participants directly to and from the conference venue. Official pickup locations in downtown HCMC and departure schedules will be emailed to registered attendees closer to the event.
Ride-Hailing: Applications such as Grab, Be, and Xanh SM (Vietnam's premier fleet of eco-friendly electric vehicles) are widely used, offering transparent pricing and convenient booking. We highly recommend downloading these apps prior to arrival.
Traditional Taxis: Reliable, metered taxi brands like Vinasun (white cars) and Mai Linh (green cars) are abundant throughout the city and can be easily hailed from hotels or the airport.
