VFJ 2025
The work Toward Vietnamese Feminist Judgments is a scholarly monograph published in January 2024 under the project Integrating Feminist Legal Theory into Legal Education, Research and Practice, funded by Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung Hanoi Office and coordinated by the University of Economics and Law, Vietnam National University HCMC. The collection introduced to interested readers an essay on feminist judgments from a Vietnamese perspective, along with six judgment commentaries in areas including sexual violence, inheritance, family law, and labour law.
This work builds on the feminist judgment rewriting tradition long established in academic circles in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States, and has generated notable interest among researchers in Vietnam and internationally.
The project continues this research direction with the goal of publishing a second scholarly monograph on Vietnamese Feminist Judgments. The VFJ 2025 conference is one of the core activities within this initiative — a space for participants to exchange and discuss research related to feminist judgments, contributing to papers that will subsequently be published in the collection.
The conference is held over one (01) day across four (04) plenary sessions. Authors will present their research under the coordination of a chair for each session.
The Editorial Board selects suitable abstract submissions and invites authors to submit full papers. Full papers are further selected for blind peer review, conducted independently by two expert reviewers.
Papers selected for presentation at the conference will receive feedback from expert discussants and conference participants. Authors then revise their papers considering conference feedback and the peer reviewers' recommendations.
Papers that meet the required standard after revision will be included in a subsequent volume of Toward Vietnamese Feminist Judgments, published by a reputable press in both Vietnamese and English.
Authors with papers presented at the conference will receive a certificate of participation and will be compensated for:
Papers published in the post-conference monograph will not receive additional remuneration. Authors will receive complimentary copies of the published book.
